Superb design, dramatic architecture, spectacular views, romantic pool areas, fine food and imaginative accommodations define the character of this breathtaking cliff-dweller.
Flowing in three levels down a hillside, with each window framing the glorious bay below. Once through the carved wooden door you step into a tiered open-air palapa lounge full of Mexican handicrafts, from comfortable rattan and leather seating to exquisitely primitive stools, tables and rare Mexican objets d'art. A bevy of woven baskets hang from the palm-thatched roof, and straw bristles from authentic adobe walls.
The very large and cool tiled rooms show lots of handcrafted furniture, folk art and pottery, with endless bird, monkey and mermaid motifs. Minibars are stocked with complimentary drinks, and at turndown, housekeepers lay flower petals in artistic patterns on the spreads.
A sundeck with a small freshwater pool lies near the bar. The larger pool has an infinity edge perched at the rim of a cliff, spilling water over it. A narrow spiral stairway passes a small observation point above the crashing surf and continues almost to the water, where a saltwater pool, whirlpool and tiered sundeck await those in search of even more privacy.
